Methodology - part one - The Roll Out
The past 3 episodes we discussed curriculum - relevance, meaningfulness, opportunities, challenges, affirmations.
This week we began to talk about rolling it out because curriculum just doesn’t simply appear and take place. The core of the curriculum must have goals. But first, we look at our population and begin to figure out how to work with them to ensure each student is acknowledged and provided opportunities to succeed in their own way.
Think of yourself as a trainer. How would you build your team to be as strong in as many areas as possible? Look at their strengths and abilities and work from there.
That’s where we begin some good work!

Methodology Pt 2 - Incentives!
Using Incentives can be something many instructors shy away from - because there have been too many strings, too many systems, too many failed trials. Perhaps watching movies, eating cookies, and taking “time off” aren’t the best incentives - perhaps there are many more that could foster community, learning, success, and create a way for you to engage, give feedback, and work with your students so they could find more success.
These incentives could be simple community building activities, or they could be quiet SEL type activities. What you much work with is whittling down your time chatting to give more time to the students to do their tasks.
Have a listen and let’s see what you can figure out.

Methodology Part 3 - Feedback, Scoring and Grading
How do you connect with your students? This is important because this can make or break a student in your classroom/program, it can make your space safe or one with landmines for the students.
How do we create safety? How do we dialog with the students? How is all this important?
Well, even if you think you know, we all need a reminder from time to time - just as a train needs its tracks realigned every once in a while.
So, we can get on board and ride this rail!
